As one of the five major engineering plastics, nylon has excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance, processing properties, electrical properties, solvent resistance, flame retardancy, etc., and is widely used as engineering materials in industrial machinery, vehicles, electronic appliances, etc.
1. Heat resistance: Nylon material has a high melting point, and the thermal stability is greatly improved after modification, and the heat distortion temperature can be as high as 250°C.
2. Processing performance: Nylon is a thermoplastic. After melting, it has low viscosity under the action of shear force, good fluidity, and is easy to form and process.
3. Electrical properties: Under dry conditions, nylon has good electrical insulation and can be used as an insulating material. It is a particularly good high-frequency insulating material. However, nylon is easy to absorb water and moisture, and the insulation will decrease after moisture absorption.
4. Solvent resistance: Nylon has good chemical stability, alkali resistance, and weak acid resistance; it is also a solvent-resistant plastic and can be used in chemical and chemical equipment; in environments where certain metals are prone to rust, such as water meters, nylon materials can be used instead.
5. Flame retardancy: Nylon has good flame retardancy and is generally not easy to burn; adding antibacterial agents can also make it antibacterial and self-cleaning.
1. Laser engraved nylon: material injection molding grade, non-flame retardant, high-gloss black, halogen-free flame retardant, mainly used in electronics, automobiles, home appliances and other fields.
2. Antistatic nylon: The material has the characteristics of high strength, high toughness, long-term antistatic, dyeable, low cost, and glass fiber reinforcement. It is mainly used in household appliances and automotive interiors.
3. Carbon fiber modified nylon: The material has the characteristics of high fluidity and surface resistivity of 10⁴~1012Ω.cm. It is mainly used in OA products, industrial wear-resistant products, electronic appliances, mobile phones, notebook casings, etc.
4. Injection-grade magnetically conductive nylon: The material has the characteristics of high fluidity, medium magnetic performance, and low cost. It is mainly used for printer magnetic rollers, motor rotors for home appliances, miniaturized motor rotors, and automotive micro-motor rotors.
5. Nylon for wading products: The material has the characteristics of high strength, high impact resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and conforms to GB/T17219. It is mainly used in water meters and water pumps.
6. Nylon for automobiles: The application of nylon engineering plastics in the automotive field is mainly in the engine peripherals and exterior decoration systems: PPO/PA for fenders, PA6+MD20 for hub covers, semi-aromatic nylon for rearview mirror housings, The engine cover uses PA6+MD20, the intake manifold uses PA+GF30, and the water chamber uses weather-resistant alcoholysis PA66+GF30.
7. Toughened nylon series: There are super-tough and cold-resistant nylon materials, reinforced and toughened nylon materials, and filled and toughened nylon materials, which are mainly used in cable ties, baby carriage accessories, sports equipment, home appliance accessories, auto parts, etc.
8. Special nylon series: there are wear-resistant nylon materials/sound-absorbing nylon materials/aesthetic nylon materials such as metal texture, matte, and high-gloss black/high dimensionally stable nylon materials, mainly used in gears, bearings, textile accessories, auto parts, earphones, audio accessories, etc.
9. Long glass fiber reinforced nylon: Compared with short glass fiber, long glass fiber reinforced nylon has the advantages of high strength, high rigidity, high notched impact strength, short-term heat resistance and fatigue resistance. It can still maintain good mechanical properties and can replace metals as structural materials.
